Members of our civil division

make up a specialized group of employees and select subcontractors, bringing their experiences together to build ski trails, lift installations and snowmaking systems.

Building on their life long connection to skiing, Dave Miller and Matt Howard have put their knowledge and experience into ski area construction. Seeking to expand the civil division, the company''s experience in land clearing and piping installation was a natural fit for the work.

Over the years, Glen Builders had worked for many local ski areas, including assisting with lift installations at Shawnee Peak and Attitash, snowmaking pipe rehabilitation at Cranmore and Attitash and the dismantling of the famed Wildcat gondola.

In the winter of 2013, the company's big break came from Ted Sutton, the project manager for the $4M Mittersill Trail Improvement project, next to Cannon Mountain. GBI broke ground in the late summer of 2014 and started clearing the first trails. The project expanded to include the snowmaking piping installation, assisting with the installation of a new compressor and the new T Bar surface lift.

Rapidly building on the three seasons at Mittersill, GBI was enlisted to assist Sugarloaf with the installation of new snowmaking pipe on Narrow Gauge.

Joining in the ski area game, Glen Builders' concrete division was selected to install the new return terminal for Sunday River''s Locke Mountain Triple.

As part of a $50 million base area redevelopment project, Glen Builders relocated the drive terminal of the South Quad, uphill to allow for more room for the lift queue and a buffer to Phase I of the new Kearsarge Brook Condominiums.

Glen Builders continues to explore opportunities to work with ski area operators throughout New England.
